To get a suit made in Patong, visit a tailor in person, choose a fabric and style, be measured, then return for at least one fitting before you collect it. Suits can be ready in 1 to 2 days after your fitting, so tell us your departure date in your first conversation and we will plan the fitting around it.
The short version of the process
- Tell the tailor what the suit is for and when you fly. A wedding, a business trip and a holiday souvenir are different jobs.
- Choose the fabric. Touch it, hold it up to the light, and ask how it behaves in heat.
- Choose the style. Lapel, buttons, vents, trouser cut. A photo makes this much quicker.
- Get measured. A tailor measures your body, not a size chart, and notes things like posture and shoulder slope.
- Come back for a fitting. You try the suit on, and the tailor marks what needs to change.
- Collect it in the shop, or ask about hotel delivery or shipping.
Step 1: Know your dates before you walk in
Good tailoring needs time between the first measurement and the finished suit, because the garment has to be cut, assembled, tried on and adjusted. For a suit, we can have it ready in 1 to 2 days after your fitting. Tell us the day you leave Phuket so we can plan the fitting early enough, including whether a second fitting fits in. Other garments such as gowns or complex designs depend on the item and the shop’s workload.
Step 2: Choose the fabric for where you will wear it
If the suit will mostly be worn in Thailand, think about heat. If it is going home to a cold climate, you can choose something heavier. Ask the tailor to explain the difference rather than just pointing at the nicest colour. Our guide to fabrics for tropical heat covers the main choices.
Step 3: Decide the style
You will be asked a handful of questions:
- One-button, two-button or double-breasted?
- Single vent, double vent or none?
- Slim or classic trouser leg, and with or without cuffs?
- Do you want a waistcoat to match?
If you are unsure, bring a photo. We can work from a picture and talk through what is possible. See how copying a design from a photo works.
Step 4: The measuring session
Expect the tailor to measure chest, waist, hips, shoulders, sleeve length, jacket length, trouser waist and inseam, and to look at how you stand. Wear a fitted shirt if you can, and empty your pockets. Measuring takes a short while, so do not worry about it being a big commitment of your day.
Step 5: Fittings are where the suit becomes yours
The first try-on is not meant to be perfect. It is the moment the tailor sees the suit on your body and adjusts shoulders, sleeve length, waist suppression and trouser length. If something feels tight when you sit, walk or lift your arms, say so. Read more in how custom suit fittings work.
Step 6: Collecting and taking it home
When the suit is finished you can collect it from the shop on Bangla Road. If you would rather not carry it, ask about hotel delivery and shipping home. Availability depends on the order, so ask when you place it.
Common mistakes to avoid
- Leaving the order to your last day in Phuket.
- Choosing fabric on colour alone and ignoring weight and breathability.
- Skipping the fitting to save time.
- Not saying how you plan to wear the suit (office, wedding, evening).

Common questions
Do I need an appointment?
You can walk in during opening hours (10:00 – 23:00). If you are short of time, message us first so we can plan your measuring and fitting visits.
Can I order if I only have a few days?
For a suit, often yes: suits can be ready in 1 to 2 days after your fitting, so tell us your departure date and we will plan the fitting early. For other items, such as gowns or complex designs, it depends on the item and the workload, and we will say honestly what is possible.
Do I need to know exactly what I want?
No. Many people arrive with only a rough idea. Looking at fabrics, trying a few styles and showing us photos usually turns that into a clear plan within one visit.
Can I order for someone else?
The person being fitted needs to come in for measuring and fittings, because a garment is only as accurate as the body it is cut for.
